Third day of Diary - Statistical argument
I just came from Street mall because I and my housemates wanted to eat outside. While we ate, we were chatting. One of friend said statistical evidence shows that 95% of population who wants to buy pen or pencil, they write their names first. Then he considered he also writes his name first therefore we all write our name first when we buy pen or pencil.More information
Assumption
In the morning I and 2 of my friends went to KL for shopping. There lot of sales and discount up to 70%. I bought 2shoes. I saw very nice dress in Time square and its cost 110RM but i could not buy it because I did not have enough money for that dress. Then I told to my friend I will buy it next time. One of my friend told me that she can lend me money and if I do not buy that dress today, next time I cannot get it. She was assuming that if i do not buy today, someone will buy before I come back and buy it because that dress was after discount 95RM. Unfortunately I did not buy it because I really do not like lend money from someone :).Friday, August 29, 2008
Second day of Diary - Ad populum appeal to vanity
Few minutes ago i was chatting with my friend. He has not contact me since we graduated high school. Suddenly today he had such a good mood and chatting with me like good friends. He said that " you were good student and hope that you are still good as before" I was quite surprised but at the end he said that he wants to transfer to Malaysia and asked me help him to find good University. Then I understand why he acted like that because he was trying to make me feel good and help him for find good university.Simile
Critical thinking
Thursday, August 28, 2008
First day of my diary

Critical thinking can be defined as examining your own ideas, and those of others; synthesising and assessing these different ideas and arguments; and applying ideas in different contexts
Problem solving model:
1. Define the problem- Problem exist when there is a gap between what you expect to happen and what actually happens
2. Analyse the problem
- Question about what you are doing
- Question about how you are thinking
- Question about the problem solution
- Question about the problem problem situation
3. Identify the possible solution
- Make list of all the possible action you can take
4. Decide on the appropriate alternative
I live with 5 of my friends. Yesterday one of my housemate, Zoloo, lost her keys. Everyone has class, so we cannot lend our keys. Also she is the one who has class in the afternoon.
In this case, the problem is how she would lock the house. So we discussed how can solve this problem. We write down what we can do, in order to solve the problem

- Go to alamanda and copy the keys
- One of us come home before Zoloo leaves the house
- Call our friend and ask them care the house for awhile
- Zoloo will not attend the class
- Just leave the house
- Buy new lock and change it
Then we discussed which solution is the best alternative.
Go to alamanda and copy the keys
Advantage: no need to ask someone for take care the houseGo to alamanda and copy the keys
Everyone can attend the class
Disadvantage: loose time
far from home
Come home early:
ADV: Zoloo can go to class
We can take care the house by ourselves
DISADV: Person who comes early, she has to finish her class eraly
If everyone has class full day, one of us has to be absent in the class
Zoloo will not attent the class
ADV: 4of us can go to class and no worries
DISADV: Zoloo will not understand her lecture
Just leave the house
ADV: All of us can attend the class
DISADV: Thief
Buy new lock and change
Adv: Save time
No worries
All can attend the class
No thief
No need ask our freinds and save credit
DISADV: Money
Hard to change ans ask someone to change for us
At the end of this discussin we decided to buy new lock and change. The happiest thing is when we bought lock, salesman changed for us.
